Fixing Broken Pickles

Pickles are a staple in pretty much every culture.  We love nothing more than pulling a thick, firm pickle, sliding it past our lips and tasting that delicious, salty bring as it squirts in our mouths and drips down our chin when we bite down.  Not all pickles are created equal and sometimes, you run across a jar that doesn’t pack the kind of punch you want.  We may have a solution…

Grandma was notorious for being a wizard in the garden and the kitchen.  Her pickles were the absolute best.  It was hard to eat more than 2, they were so powerful, but somehow, a third one was always requested.  Sadly, they don’t make em like they used to.

A red wine vinegar would be nice, but, again, this isn’t a wine and dine thing, we want to be in and out and on our way so good ole 5% white is how its gonna be.

Salt and vinegar and garlic is great.  But you can get that at home, we are looking to take things just a bit further.  For this, we picked up the Pizza Time and got real familiar with it, real quick.

We got it on right then and there.  Lots of sloshing and slipping and sliding and making sure every inch was covered with mouth watering mix.  You can almost feel them in your mouth; rolling around, bumping your tongue, until it slides down your throat.

As soon as we were done, we wiped everything down (wow that was wet), dropped the ingredients and olives in the fridge and that was that.  A few days later, we ran into those olives again.  The second we popped one, it was a full on rush of zing, spice, and salty garlic.  Yea, we’ll definitely be doing this again.

If you find yourself with a wandering eye, pick up a can of olives and a spice mix and see where the night takes you…
